Basic Orientation

Early during your first year as a volunteer, you will be notified (usually by email) to take a one and a half hour

New Member Orientation as part of your minimum training requirements.

Content for the Orientation:

•          Overview of the national MRC program

•           Introduction to the Worcester Regional  unit

                    o     Interaction with regional response units

                    o     Priorities and typical activities

•          Basic concepts of disaster response; Intro to Disaster as applied to the MRC

After orientation, you will need to undergo Training in order to be deployed in a full range of situations commensurate with your certifications and skills. Please make sure to work towards the

Core competencies as well.
